70 years of History of Art at Oxford

An event was held at Trinity College on December 10 2025 to celebrate seventy years of History of Art at Oxford.

Hosted by the President of Trinity College, Sir Robert Chote, guests included the last three Statutory Professors: Martin Kemp, Craig Clunas and Geoffrey Batchen.

They are holding portraits of their two predecessors, Edgar Wind and Frances Haskell, along with the plaque that once graced the Department’s original home in Beaumont Street.
