'Inventing Photography' BA Course

inventingphotographycourse

The 2nd-year BA course, ‘Inventing Photography’, taught by Professor Geoffrey Batchen, seeks to introduce students to the materiality of their subject, both by having them make cyanotype photographs and by visiting collections in Oxford and handling early photographs.

This year’s participants, Xintong Liu, Siyu Zhou and Peter Wareing, made two cyanotypes each and got to look at an 1852 stereo-daguerreotype by Antoine Claudet through a viewer at the History of Science Museum.
