Jennifer Kim - Jon Stallworthy Poety Prize

Our congratulations to History of Art MSt student Jennifer Kim (Exeter College), who been awarded the coveted Jon Stallworthy Poetry Prize for 2023 for her poem Trente et Quarante After Lucian Freud’s “The Big Man” (1976), painted to repay his gambling debtsJennifer's poem won out over 90+ entries submitted by Oxford's postgraduate poets.  The competition was judged by the Professor of Poetry, Alice Oswald, and by Professor Bernand O'Donoghue.

The Jon Stallworthy Poetry Prize competition was set up in memory of the late Professor Jon Stallworthy (1935-2014), poet and Fellow of Wolfson College, and is open to any student currently enrolled in postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford.
