Surface Tension: Photography, Truth, Materiality

On October 25 2025, at 4pm, an exhibition will open at the Kendrew Barn in St Johns College, co-curated by Geoffrey Batchen, Professor of History of Art, and Isabel Gregory, a BA student in History of Art, along with Katy Barron, Director of the Photo Oxford Festival for 2025.

Titled Surface Tension: Photography, Truth, Materiality, the exhibition will feature an array of international photographs, including work by Adam Fuss, Julia Margaret Cameron, Thomas Barrow, Justine Varga, Takashi Arai, James Tylor, Lynn Cazabon, Edward Steichen, and many others.
